Omei is famous among the Chinese circle for seafood,especially big, live, fresh lobsters,n King crabs.The huge Lobsters n King crabs are presented in 3 different ways, plus a fried rice utilizing the roe. While Zen is our favourite Japanese Restaurant, my boyfriend and I have enjoyed dining here for their enoki maki (thin slices of beef wrapped around enoki-Japanese mushrooms). Their nigiri and sashimi while delicious is not a priority for us to order as they serve very thin small pieces for the price you pay. We have also had their sukiyaki (we cook ourselves on the table) and it is large enough for 3 people, although much more expensive ($60 for 2 people which includes rice and raw egg for dipping) than other restaurants where we have enjoyed the same. The sukiyaki comes traditionally (as they served), with slices of thin sukiyaki beef, tofu, Chinese cabbage, green onion, oyster mushrooms, shitake mushrooms and regular mushrooms, transparent thin noodles and onion. Their broth was excellent-not too sweet. A great meal to have on a cold day. Read more

I was looking for one of the new places to try north of 7, and came across this restaurant. They have very little parking out front, perhaps more behind - or if you want to park across the street and brave the insane driveway, there's more parking there. I am occidental - and was the only one here, which is a relatively good sign. The food arrived super hot but took longer than it does in some nearby Dim Sum places. The delivery people were very clean and well dressed which was pleasing. I was given really nice Jasmine tea when I sat down - but was charged $1 for it....I don't mind, but I've not been charged for tea before (I think of it as water...perhaps it's a Dim Sum thing). The shrimp dumplings had good firm shrimp, with nice flavour, as did the steamed rice noodles. I should have gotten a veg dish but didn't want to overeat. The mango pudding presentation was very nice - a heart form with nice cream / sweetened condensed milk. I'll probably try it again - but felt a bit out of place. Read more
