This little restaurant opened about a year or so ago and is now officially our favourite Japanese restaurant in the neighbourhood. The sushi is nothing short of amazing. An incredible selection of original roll creations is augmented by all of the favourites. What's best is they use wild salmon for their creations and obviously keep abreast of what is fresh at the market judging by their ever-changing special board. I had some wild hamachi sashimi there that just about made me swoon it was so amazing. The noodle soup is very flavourful as well and the only teeniest suggestion I could make would be to remove the skin from the chicken before plopping it into the soup. To top off your meal the tempura bananas and ice cream is not to be missed. The restaurant itself is what you would expect decor-wise but a neat and kitschy touch they include is customer testimonials posted all around the restaurant. The location in the heart of Main and the service also can't be beat. Truly some of the best sushi I've ever eaten. Read more

They checked about 6 times to make sure I was ok and no item which I was allergic to didn't make it to my plate. They gave us a full banquette because we had our son with us. I was skeptical at first because they ranked so high in reviews and this place was located in Delta/Surrey but I must say I was really impressed. I think Ive been to all the Japanese restaurants along the Westcoast and Akari is absolutely top notch. Their black rice specialty rolls and tempura were especially memorable. The owner told me they have a tempura master who have been making tempura for 20 years! Ill definitely be back with my family and friends. Read more

To start, this was the only Sushi place I was able to find that delivers in my area and they were quick with my order. The overall quality of their avocado and spicy salmon rolls are better than most other places. The delivery was fast and they were within 5 - 10 minutes but promised a 30 minute maximum wait. The price is reasonable, and charge 3.99 for each spicy salmon roll. I will probably only order from them from now on, thanks! Read more

Some spots in their parking lot otherwise try the side streets. You have 2-3 guys working fast in the front at the sushi area so the wait for any dish very minimal. Blue fin tuna and hamachi shashimi excellent. We also had raw Ebi, wild salmon, scallop sushi, deep fried eggplant, gomae, monkfish liver, California roll with fresh crabmeat, green tea ice cream also very good.
